OBJECTIVES

The Constance Travis Charitable Trust is a grant making Trust registered with the Charity Commission, Charity number 294540. The Trust was constituted in 1986 and initially endowed by Constance and Ray Travis. Subsequently, funds have been added to the initial endowment by various members of the Travis family.

The Trust’s activity is solely making grants from its endowment income. It does not raise funds from the public and does not have a trading subsidiary.

Prospective new applicants should be made aware that, following a strategic review, the trustees have decided to make donations to fewer, larger national and international charities and to considerably reduce the number of charities the Trust has previously supported.

The trustees regret that this means that they are unable to consider new unsolicited applications for the foreseeable future.

The Trustees hold the Trust’s endowment to apply its capital and income for the benefit of such charitable institutions or the furtherance of such charitable activities as they think fit.

Currently the Trust is making awards to 7 areas of charitable activity.

  1. Care of the vulnerable and sick.

  2. Medical research

  3. International aid

  4. Protection of the environment

  5. Animal welfare

  6. Education, social mobility and community

  7. Arts outreach
